External / PU Coating for EPC-2 Salman Project

SADAF Polyurethane coating plant has the following main sections and it will perform the coating activities with the following capabilities:

• Cleaning the pipe internal and external surface: Both of the pipes surfaces will be washed with high pressure water & if it needs, must be used special thinner for remove any grease & oily contamination
• Blasting: The blasting will be performed by shot & grit (depends on the surface roughness required)
• PU coating: PU material will be sprayed on the pipe surface in accordance with AWWA C222 and AWWA C210
• Special attention must be paid to the handling, transportation and storage of coated/bare pipes in order to avoid damage to them. Coated pipes should be handled in such a manner & under such conditions that they are not exposed to impact of any kind. Pipe supplied with beveled ends for welding must be handled so that the bevels are not damaged by collision, shocks, etc.
